Update from NHS England: Flu vaccinations for 50-64 year olds

As part of the extended Flu Programme this year, the Flu vaccine being offered for this age group is a Quadrivalent Inactivated vaccine. This covers 4 x flu virus strains and is a good match against the current seasonal flu strains.

The flu season can last up until March next year, so it is important to get your Flu vaccination to protect you against the seasonal Flu viruses.

This vaccine is licenced for those above 18 years of age and is a single vaccination given in the arm.

As with all vaccines there are some side effects. The most common are some soreness at the site of the injection and possibly feeling tired, have a headache and muscle/joint pain.
